2nd night with gtech pro/comp

Hello again guys, well, I just got back from my second night of messing around with the gtech. This time it was just myself in the car, so its weight was right around 3000lbs. Anyhoo, I did maybe seven or eight runs, ranging from 13s to high 14s, depending on whether I shifted right, launched right, and/or reacted quickly enough. My first decent run was my best of the night, which may have been due to some heat-soaking of the intercooler later on. My numbers were as follows: reaction:1.228s, ET: 13.327s, trap speed: 106.41, 60':2.057, 1/8mile: 8.656s @84.03mph, 0-60mph:5.061s. I hadn't changed the weight calibration until after this run, so it was programmed at 3200 lbs instead of a more accurate 3000lbs, so the hp and torque should be a bit off, but here they are anyways: max hp: 219.2 @5752rpm, max torque: 203.8 @5506rpm. My second best run was a 13.715s@ 104.68mph, reaction:0.878s, 60':2.202s, 1/8mile: 8.980s @83.09mph, 0-60mph:5.663s, and with a more accurate weight calibration of 3000lbs, my hp:195.6@6118rpm, and torque:176.0ft/lbs @5625rpm. Later I had a 13.916@104.09 with a 0.764s reaction, while my 60':2.242s, 1/8mile:9.142s@82.05mph, and 0-60mph was 5.792s, hp: 194.1 @6118rpm, torque:173.5@5625rpm. I another 13.9 run, as well as a few 14s runs, namely when I missed a gear, reacted way slow, bogged the launch or didn't get traction. As with the first thread I started about this, these numbers are not necessarily perfect nor am I claiming that they are so. To me, the horsepower and torque seem a bit low to push myself and the 7 to a 13.327, but I only got a 3 on my AP physics C test and calculus isn't my greatest subject either. If you guys want info on it, you can go to the website: www.gtechpro.com, they list the stats and give a simple break-down of how it works, the 3 axes accelerometers, the integration, etc. Josh

Skunks-Its possible that the road has a very slight grade to it, but it seems rather flat . Unless I got out some surveying equipment and learned how to use it, I couldn't tell you for sure.

ulost2my7-I would like to go to the track, but the local one, Fontana, is pretty crowded at the moment, I work on Sarturdays (when its open), plus it is too hot during the day to be running the seven(100f+). I do look forward to heading to the track one day, but I still really enjoy the Gtech, plus it calculates horsepower and torque being put to the ground, which a drag strip doesn't do. Also, I can run however many times I want, I stage at my liesure, I don't have to deal with tech inspections, and most importantly, I can't easily embarass myself in front of others with a 15 or 16 second run. First time woulda been better if you weren't asleep when it told you to go...

Nice numbers though, assuming a stock power car. Right on par with where they should be, so you know the G-Tech is working.

Oh yeah, by the way, its basically all stock, except the intake ducting is kinda missing, via the prior owner who decided to put on the RB cold air ducting that wouldn't exactly fit with my koyo radiator. My RRR cold air intake is coming, so I'll find out how that works soon, then my downpipe should be, then a boost controller, exhaust, high flow cat, and then college time.

911GT2-I agree that I need to learn to launch better and work on consistency in driving and reaction times. But I'm learning, and thats whats important. After going faster, girls, and more money. Josh

I have one now and had the old one before. Having corner weighted the car, I knew how much the car weighed except for gas that was below or above the level I when I weighed the car. I would guess I was within 10 pounds on most of my runs with the old one. WAY...WAY back, when I had it I was running 12 psi (med setting) on the PFS PMC, it showed a best of 289 rwhp. Within a month I finally hit the dyno (dynojet248) and it showed 294, not bad.

Speed=money+girls?

Holy **** I'm hitting the track right NOW! No but seriously, I probably shouldn't be the one to comment. I've never even been to a dragstrip, so I'm probably just about the worst driver here. If I were one to give props, I'd give you props for working on everything with the G-Tech.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do use the same road for the testing, so that is one less variable to bother with, except when I run one direction and then run the opposite way. I gues I'll have to start sticking to one particular section and one direction. I wish speed=money + girls, but I think that only exists in pro car racing, like F1, Cart, or something else of the sort. I'm glad to hear that the hp calculations are at least reasonably correct, now I need to weigh the car with myself and note the amount of gas in the tank. Josh
