2nd gear synchro
ok, i did a lot of research on the 5th gear synchro and i am going to do it next week.
now the guy who wants me to do his synchro said that he also has problem with the 2nd gear, it is hard to get it.
anyone ever had a bad 2nd synchro? Is it a lot harder than the 5th to change? Do you tink that the stronger shift select spindle might solve the problem?
thanks a lot

I've never heard of a problem with the 2nd gear synchro. I know the 5th synchro is easy to get to because it's close to the end of the tranny. I'm 90% sure the 2nd synchro is further back in the next section of the casing. I had a diagram before but recently reformatted, lemme see if I can track it down again.

I'd guess there wouldn't be as many problems with 1st, 2nd and 3rd, because those gears are double synchronized. However, those are the gears people are usually hardest on.
If you are going to do the 2nd gear syncho sleeves, you might as well just do them all and maybe even the bearings since you will have dissasembled the whole thing anyway.
