2nd gear grinding

the shift into 2nd grinds unless i do it very slowly and carefully. the rest of the shifts are not super smooth but seems okay. i've heard about the 5th gear problem, but does anybody else have this problem. or is it just my tranny is going bad. would redline or something similar help? thanks.

I think redline in the Tranny sucks. Now I had it in my car and always had a hard time shifting, yes it was the proper level, and then I put in OMEGA and smooth as hell....

I'm using redline and my 2nd gear crunches and grinds. My 3rd gear has one very small crunch unless i quick shift it in there...all the other gears are fine...my 5th gear is superb. Except my reverse is sometimes hard to get into...but then again it's reverse

I've had a weak 2nd gear synchro since car was new. Up shift is the problem (down shift is great) and is better when warmed up and engine is at higher RPM's, like above 3K or so. Also, shifts easier since I changed gear oil to NEO synthetic.

Same problem here - 2nd gear grinds if I don't do it slowly. Do these additives really help ? I don't think there's much to do againt a bad synchro.
