If you get a RX7 for $13K and spend $7K more you can have a pretty fast car. More important with RX7s is doing things the proper way and do the reliability mods. If you want to go the cheapest route I'd find a FD with a blown motor for like $8-9K, spend $5K on a streetported engine with Hurley apex seals and then start with the downpipe, exhaust, ecu, blah, blah. You could also find an already built RX7 for around $20K. I'd shop around and if you buy one already built make sure that who built it is knowledgeable of the car and that the car is tuned correctly. You can spend about $2K on an intake, full exhaust, and ecu running 12 lbs of boost and be in the low-mid 12s with about 300-320 rwhp. You can find 360-400 rwhp RX7s for like $18K-25K depending.
