That's a sparkling clean bay you have there. What do you have left besides the IC?

Install IC, new studs for the DP and install the MP, call Ray @ Malloy for a thermostat and MAP filter, prime everything, add fuel/premix, do one last check of all the systems and turn the key.

Kinda sucks because I have probably less than 2 hours of work to do, but i can't finish because of a couple little things that are either 2k miles away, or behind a locked door at the hardware store. Eh, waited this long, i can wait a couple more days.

The IC I purchased off of here a LONG time ago doesn't have the correct piping, so I'll have to run the stocker for the time being until i can find some pipes for it.

One thing i did do that i kinda wish i wouldn't have, is bought a modified primary fuel rail to fit 850s, and now that i'm going to stay at stock boost levels for the moment, those 850s could just be a nuisance, but i'll run with them for now as i didn't send my 550s to RC to be cleaned and just sent in 4 850s. but i still have the injetors and stock rail, so all i would need is clean 550's and a couple hours of time to swap out the 850's.

I purchases this car in July of '06, and chucked a seal late September of that same year. All though i'm still learning and will always be, i knew absolutely nothing at that time.

I had help pulling the motor and then had it rebuilt, but then i decided that if i'm going to learn how to do this, i need to just do it. And since nothing was labeld during the motor pull, I didn't have anything to help referrence location of most of the nuts, bolts and engine components, so i researched, and researched and asked every stupid question that came to mind before I made a move and started sorting through the pile of parts. If I came to somthing i was unsure about, i stopped and started seaching and asking more stupid questions until I had a definitive answer. but once i had all my ducks in a row, and a few late nights and here i am.

lets just hope i hear more than the whir of the the starter when i turn the key.

your belt for the PS pump and AC is on the wrong way, it should go under the pulley not over...that can pop off that way...nice build BTW

I actually fixed it about 30 minutes after i took the picture. but thanks for pointing it out as i might not have noticed!!!

the pipes came with the car when i bought it. someone a year ago or so, saw them and thought they were the rx7store piping, but i really have no idea. could be eaby pipes for all i know, but i need to get red couplers for them because the blow just doesn't fit with all the black and red. i need to do something to space them apart, because the old filters i took off were rubbing each other.

Thanks for the comments

Yuppers, i still remember crossing that nearly burned down bridge to get them. Still think about it, especially when i look at the PS pulley. Again, thank you.

I added a shot of clear coat to the pulley, looks brand new.

It looks like Fighters Garage piping. I believe the fitting for the air-pump is optional.

Wow, the ONE thing I didn't research on here and I installed wrong, and I get a comment like that, even though I picked up on it myself before the original "spotter" found my error. You know, if you tinted your own windows and did a terrible job, you wouldn't catch me bashing on your efforts....hell, I'd probably mail you a copy of my training dvd at no cost just to help you out.

Sorry man, but that has been about the only thing running through my mind since I started doing this solo months ago. Yeah, I also wonder what else is wrong as well and I've had many sleepless nights going over everthing I did that day. I'm going to get to find out when my parts from Ray get here on wednesday and I can finish this, so you can stop wondering what else is wrong because that's all I've been doing for months and will be doing for the next 2 days. I have been doing my best at staying level headed in the sense that considering this is my first rodeo, things mostlikely aren't going to workout, and it will be on jackstands for the remainder of the year while I try to sort everything out, but hey, you never know......

Thanks for the vote of confidence though.

Wow spandy, thats awesome you did all of that by yourself! Right now I'm 50/50 whether I'll buy a Rx7 in the future. They seem like so much work but the benefits seem way better than the garage time.

internal comsucktion is just a hater.

No, i didn't do any painting other than some engine components and whatnot. that's an original, 15 year old, 118k engine bay....just needed a good scrubbing.

And i'm retarded, i do have the correct piping, but the bov i currently have has the adapter to fit the stock location, so for now i'm just going to block the ic bov bung and decide where to go from there.

i should be cranking on it later this afternoon. i waited for the weekend so in the event that it doesn't start, i have a day to cry and drink some beer. you wouldn't think a guy would put something like this off an extra day or two after waiting this long. kinda scared But hey, if it doesn't, i'm not giving up

Yeah, thats the mistake i made a couple of years ago. Ran the belt over the pulley, just as seen in the pic. BUT i ran the car like that for a whole year without problems.

But he should change it to be on the safe side.

Doing some testing and my water pump had a small leak. Ripped it all off, just need to clean the hell out of it, going gasketless this time around.

Stupid 24 hour dry time.
