2 omp questions

sorry i tried searching and there is a million threads on the omp but most are leaks and replacing lines which do not help. my 1st question is my omp nozzels are capped and have been this way for the past two years but i didn't know until now because this rebuild i'm doing my self, i read that they need a constant vac. source so does this mean that the omp hasn't been working? i have a pfc so it wouldn't have gone into limp mode. should i have been running pre-mix and if i should i would have been nice of the shop who capped them to tell me. 2nd question is when i installed the omp to the front cover today there is a small gap but all the bolts line up so i don't see how i could have installed it wrong? is this normal. thanks

1. The nozzles need fresh air not vacuum. If they are capped you may get more (not less) oil injected under some conditions. The PFC only monitors the position of the oil metering pump's stepper motor. It does not directly monitor the amount of oil metering into the motor.

2. That's normal.
