1998 on engine in a 1995

Hi
I am getting a quote for a front cut 1998 JDM engine ( complete ) as a replacement for the blown engine in my 95 RZ. Will I also need the wiring and the ECU or will my stock ECU and wiring work. My car is stock and so is the 98.

Thanks

I think you are in for more problems than its worth. You should just go with a different company that sells full rebuilt motors. There are no real advantages to the newer motor besides the vacuum nest is a little less damage able. Plus if you do ever want to move somewhere where there is emissions testing you will not pass. And further more who is to say the person before you didnt rod the **** out of it. Do you have compression numbers that would be the only way you could tell whether you will be totally screwed or not.

Thanks guys.

mahjik.... I will get the whole engine and ancillaries and just swap the short block... the easiest solution... the reason for the front cut is that the whole thing comes protected in its casing as it were without the transporters damaging it. Then I can replace the ltlle bits and pieces if I need them later....

No used engine/ reconditioned engine imports are allowed into Pakistan...so we have to rely on breakers/ smugglers who import these as scrap. So I cant go to Atkins rotary and import myself a short block

I just imported an engine for my 69 Alfa Bertone GTV coupe and it got stuck in customs with me being threatened with 3 months in the clinker for ignoring import regulations.... Sick country mine.....had to almost get to the prime minister to get myself off and the engine out.. I think I will use the easier shortcut this time... grease palms....
