The filler neck cap doesn't need a pressure relief spring. The cap on the AST(for aftermarket ones at least) is 13psi. I think that's like 0.9bar.

U mean that I should install a plane cap on the filler neck?

thanx

Mine has a plain cap on the filler neck and a 16lb cap on the AST (I have an aftermarket metal AST.). I don't believe there is a reason to have a spring/pressure cap on the filler neck as it drains to the over flow through the AST.

Unless maybe you have removed your AST then maybe one at the fillerneck to the overflow. But we wouldn't be having that question if this was the case.

Edit: See below for correct recall info. Thanks for the correction.

The original design called for a 1.3 bar (19 psi) pressure cap. Many owners experienced burst hoses (or hoses popping off), especially the throttle body hose, especially when the engine was hot at shutoff. The recall replaced some coolant hoses and gaskets with upgraded parts, and lowered the AST pressure cap to 0.9 bar (13 psi).

I have the old stock 1.3 bar cap en the AST. Itīs Ok to install a 1,1 bar cap on AST (I allready have it) and a plain cap on the filler neck, or I should buy a 0,9 for the AST??

bye

The 1.1 cap will raise the system boiling point, which will make the car less likely to overheat. It also put a little more stress on all of the coolant hoses, which could make your hoses fail earlier.

There are many owners who've been using the 1.1 bar cap with no problems.
