1993 Rx7 Remod Engine, what is it worth?

Hey I don't which section to post this thread except for the 3rd gen. Anyway I have remod engine that only has 15 miles on it I brought 1 remod engine at the time when my I was fixing my car. This is the story of the engine, when I installed it in my car the oil pan was not seat perfect with the engine mounts so I took the car to the dearler and the service writer say I need a new engine, So they gave me another new engine but I had to paid half price and @ the time when I removed this engine I notice where the oil leaks are, I brought my car back March in 95 and both engine where brought then. When I installed the new enigne I had this engine sitting in my garage all these years keeping it & thinking I might need it someday. So it's going on 8 years with the 2nd engine I put, and I coming to a conclusion to sell this engine cause it's sitting and taken up alot of dust while someone can use, btw I do turn the engine every month and there is oil inside and u can tell the engine has alot of compression on it by turning it. I paid $1850.96 for, so what do u guys think it's worth? Khris

If it's a perfectly good reman I'd say its worth 1200 or so. Not meaning to low ball by any means, but it has just been siting there.

xstacy7 I don't need a core, Cournal I am thinking of selling but I have not made up my mine yet because it's next to new {remod} technically, and if I someday need an engine I will have to fork out about 3500 for a new engine {not a remod} this time I was told by another mazda dealer that u can get a new Rotary engine but it cost $3500 and they do not need a core. For now it's going anyway if I deceide to sell cournal I will let u know. Khris

First, what is a 'remod'? Are you talking about a remanufactured engine? Second, you cannot buy new rotary engines to my knowledge, at least in the US. Third, remans sell for about $2000 from a Mazda dealer.

It actually is $3000 without a core. It's $2000 + your core. The core charge is $1000 (these are Malloy Mazda pricing).

Just to clear up any pricing issues, My new engine from Malloy was $2240 with gaskets and shipping both ways. And no, new engines are not available in the States only remanufactured ones. (From Ray at Malloy Mazda's mouth)
