Question Is 18k too much?

I bought another FD for the main reason of putting a new engine in it and selling it for more than i have in it.
it has a few mods allready done to it RB CB, RB intake and boost, water gauge.
if i rebuild the turbos and get a new Atkins engine and break it in do you think 18k is too much? If so what would be a good price? its black and has some nice rims with it. it has 111k on it.

What year and what condition?

If it is a 93, then I'll say yes, 18k is a lot and it will take forever to sell it. Most people looking are willing to pay around $13k-15k I would guess. Car has to be truly immaculate to garner $18k as a '93

I'm no expert, but judging by your sig (94 pearl white) you might be able to get $18k, however, I'm sure that will also take a loooooooong time to get. Someone may eventually pay it, but you'll have to wait for that right person.

Just take a look at the for RX-7 for sale section: 3rd gen.

Zoom Zoom and Sweet and Low have highly modified high mileage (over 100K) vehicles that haven't sold.

I have 2 FDs with 56k and less and would love to have Zoom Zoom's or Sweet and Low's car, but the high miles just scares me off.

I believe any vehicle with over 100k is difficult to sell.

I think it's be extremely diff to sell at the much money.

High mileage = bad value in people's minds. You can always say you've put in a lot, but most won't care. Why don't they just pay the same amount for less mileage car? For used cars, mileage is big.

Sell it for 20k.

Then tell everyone else to sell theirs for 20k.

Before you know it, all 93s will be at 20k and up.

This way, we can prevent most ricers from affording FDs!

Still won't sell for 18k...hope you have years or really dumb people around you.

And Flybye's plan will never work, because in the nature of buying items people are always searching for a deal and to pay as little as possible. And until NADA value books increase price to 18-20k it just won't work.

15k max and sorry to say but the same goes for your 94 if its not well sorted or low miles. Any higher and you will be playing the waiting game while the price of every car that competes is going down.

I bought mine in 02 with 50,xxx miles It had a new engine, pfc, full exhaust, intake, clean dent free paint. I paid $18,000.00. The guy had it in the autotrader for 23k. A good 94 fd is almost impossible to find here in AZ it is all over-run by supra owners, you know the ones that get 25,000 for their 93 1/2 with 150,000 miles

seems kinda high for a high mileage car. It just means you may have to wait longer to sell it. Im sure you are in no hurry being that you will be able to drive it and have fun untill it sells. i say you just keep them both. Keep one for drag racing and one for track racing.

It really depends on the condition of the paint and interior, but with such high miles, it will be very hard. I would only expect that much for my car and it only has 45k miles on it, but there are miles and then there are miles, so maybe 111k isn't that bad. I personally would pay a high premium for like new interior and paint, because both of those items are extremely expensive to restore. Little things make a big difference, stuff like a sagging front bumper, faded paint, worn leather seats, they don't hurt the functionality of the car by its those things that seperate the nice cars from the old-looking ones.
