I'd say it's feasible, but not recommended. I don't see you having enough fuel/ignition to support it.

Wouldn't do it. Don't the turbos fall out of range at that point anyway?

you have all those pettit parts call cam and ask him. he will tell you it's not worth it to run over 12

I am supposed to go to Pettit's next week for my hood and a final tune. I was just wondering if I could keep the boost that high because the car pulls so hard.

question is how long will it keep pulling that hard. in anycsae, if you hvae enough fuel and the right ecu to control it, it should be ok but 15psi is pretty much at the limit. idk if that ecu is up to the job to tell you the truth. also i dont see any fuel mods to support your boost.

I read somewhere that the Pettit ECU is good till 15 psi. Would upgrading my fuel system let me run 15 psi safely if the ECU can support it?

I wouldn't run over 13 psi on that Pettit...Get a real ECU.

power fc

but anyways, i think the general concensus is that ~12psi is OK with factory turbos and over that you start getting into reliability problems with the turbos and start making lots of heat which are bad for the coolant seals.

if you are going to pettit who has a good rep as an rx7 specialist, take his word over the word of a bunch of guys you don't know on a forum.

Cam will tell you that anything over 13 PSI should use race gas with their ECU.

Now, that is just a disclaimer for them so people don't blow up their engines and say "it says it's unlimited or 14.7 PSI".

Many people have run 15 PSI on the stock fuel system with the Pettit and other ECU's. While it can be done, I wouldn't recommend doing it on a daily basis.

Mahjik, that is exactly what Cam told me too. The issue will be addressed next week by Cam himself. I was just hoping I could keep the boost at 15. But I am sure that 12 or 13 will still be plenty and more reliable. Thanks everyone for the inputs.

Very true. And, he'll tell you "run 10 psi and you're engine will last forever."

I have similar mods but with a street port and the hybrid hi-flow turbos, and only running 10 psi. Im still shopping for a pump, and an efficient ic. Then maybe, I'll turn it to 12...

I recommend running 12 pounds.

15 with a PFC, Stock IC and only fuel upgrade was a walbro pump. Granted, I was at the limit of my duty cycle at about 98%, but it worked like a champ. As far as long term effects, well, we'll see. Last checked my compression was at 85/90, so I'm looking so hot, but that's not to say that this was the cause.

Technically, it can be done. YMMV.

98% duty cycle... very bad idea.

If you want your engine to LAST at above 12psi you need to upgrade your injectors & get a programmable ECU.

And exactly how does low injector duty cycles relate to "making your engine last"?

It doesn't. I have hit 100% duty cycle a few times. Kinda scary but I'm not worried about it.

i run just under 15psi(14.8) and use the stock ecu with a split-sec AIC running two additional 720cc injectors plumbed into my greddy elbow and fed by a supra pump......wide band shows 11.1-11.2 at full swing in fourth....on 93 octane i feel this is a safe combo....i may get my stock ecu flashed with 2-3 degrees less timing at full load just to be safe....but i feel confident this setup will last.....i made 304whp at 13psi with this setup.....
