14-11-16.5 on 91 octane...

...and alcohol. LOL! No I'm not completely nuts (just partially)...I figured that title would get you guys' attention though!

I installed the Stealth's old alchy system in the FD:

Here's some rather large pics of it:

No pics of the cool interior setup. The alcohol controller is actually hidden under the dash (its ugly) and there's an LED next to each gauge on my triple pillar pod; a green "armed" light, orange "spraying" light, and a red "low alcohol" light.

I asked for that LONG line because the system was going to go into my old Typhoon. I already ordered a shorter line for it.

The system and combo works like a champ. I wrote a new timing and split map over the last few days based on a bunch of research and notes I took (thanks to all the experienced guys that took the time to post back in the past). Saturday I tuned minimum boost (9.5 psi) for without the alchy at 11.1-11.3 AFR. If I run low on alcohol I can just flip a switch, the PowerFC will drop to minimum boost, then I can cruise home safely. After that we made it up to about 12.5-13 psi but ran out of laptop battery power before we could complete the tune at that spot (and we were tired as hell). It was WAY too fat at that particular boost...pushing 10.0-10.6:1. It shot cool fireballs after pulls though.

I spent almost all day tuning the car yesterday. It was 111F when I started...quite fun hanging out in the car doing pulls with the A/C off. Car stayed relatively cool though. I think cutting out 2/3 of the battery tray helped airflow thru the radiator. By the end of the day (actually 10PM) ambient was down to 88F. I burned thru over 1 gallon of alcohol and 1/2 a tank of gas and its pretty much done. I'm damn happy. It's a little fat at max boost (11.1-11.2 solid/flat) but its stinkin' fast so I'm going to leave it there (and relatively safe). Primary turbo is maxing out and won't make more than 14.0...maybe 14.4 psi before the transition. Duty cycle is set to 100%. I'm at roughly 2900' altitude so that's part of the reason. Secondary duty cycle is at 66% to get me 14.8 psi right after transition creeping to 16.0-16.5 psi at 8250. IDC's on the Power FC show 79-82%. I had to pull back ALOT of fuel from the base PowerFC map. I'm running a rather large 10 gallon per hour nozzle on the alchy system and its pushing about 95 psi. The good news is I've seeen more knock from the Power FC back when I was running 10.5 psi in the 105F+ weather without alchy than I see now. I may take it to the track Friday but other engagements may make that impossible.

On a side note, I have a ASP medium stock mount IC here but no piping for it. That's supposed to ship today or tomorrow. It was long wait for it due to some logistical issues but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
