13b TT w/ install

How much, should I expect to pay, to purchase a low mileage 13b twin turbo engine plus install in a 93 body? I know install prices cn vary alot but a good estimate is all I'm lookin for. Im trying to figure out if its worth buying an inexpensive roller and droppin an engine, or buying one with low mileage ready to go. Thanx in advance.

$5k or more for engine and install - and random other parts (hoses etc.). Rollers are almost never worth it unless you know what you are doing because they typically have some combination of poor paint, shot interiors, high miles, and salvage titles.

FD parts prices (even used parts) make resurrection less and less sensible.

You could spend $15k and still have a ratty looking car with lots of issues and no resale value.

You make a valid point. I intend to learn this car inside out over time, but I'm definitely not a certified rotary man at the moment.

I often offer rollers for sale, the price varies with the quality of the car. However, on the West Coast I imagine the do installs for between $1500-2000.00. I couldnt see how anyone could justify a higher price. You can find used long blocks for around $1800.00 or buy a rebuilt long block from me for around $3k or so depending on what all you want with it.

It really depends on what "roller" means. Will you have a transmission? Will you have any of the under hood components just minus the engine?

Im lookin to buy either a roller -engine only, or one in good condition with a bad engine or high mileage engine, and just replace it. I owuld however probably replace the tranny too depending on what condition it is in, porb worth it while everything is out.

To do things right, you'll be looking at (low estimate):

$3000 engine rebuild
$800 new wiring harness
$500 JDM transmission

There will be a lot of little things to add up as well (new coolant, fuel, & vacuum lines.. replacement solenoids, fuel system refresh, etc). This is assuming everything else is ok with the car (bushings, suspension, etc). If you are going to do a roller, estimate around $6000 to do it right with most of the components already in working order.
