13B REW Rotor Housing SPL?

I kept a pair of 13B REW Rotor Housing 8 years ago. A shop here ordered from USA for me but I have not used for engine overhaul.

Look liked the 13B REW Standard Rotor Housing

The different is here
The water ruts on the plug side

Guru please tell me what is advantage or better than the stock one.
Thanks

More surface area for dissipation of heat into the coolant system.

that actually just looks like they were gouged with a standard ball mill to increase the surface area like Blue TII has said. i can see the process and it looks fairly simple. somebody was definitely thinking about what they were doing when they did that. I myself have always wondered why nobody does that to the bottom oiled surface of the housing and added oil squirters to shoot at the them.

Racing Beat has done this for ages - if you read the tech stuff on their website, they talk about doing that to rotor housings to increase cooling. It adds some turbulence there and increases surface area a bit. Whether it actually makes a noticeable, quantifiable difference is another story.
