13b-RE exhaust manifolds same as REW?

Are the turbo manifolds the same on the RE and REW? The Turbos are different, but I was under the impression the general design is the same. Are there any usable parts for an FD with a cracked manifold?

I'm actually curious about this so 100% you cannot use the FC's TII manifold on the FD correct ?

I know someone that keeps telling a friend of mine who just got a stock FD , to go single and says the FC exhaust manifold works . and makes more power then the twins lol

That is a completely different topic. The FC exhaust manifolds can bolt onto the FD block, but I would not say that an FC turbo would make more power than the twins. We have achieved over 400whp with stock 99 spec twins.

yeahh , but I'm talking series 6 twins , Vs TII single LOL

I know the FD manifold was based off of the TII manifold to save money

The TII and FD exhaust manifolds are not remotely the same. The only thing they share is the same bolt pattern to the block and that they are cast iron, nothing about the mating flange to the turbo(s) or anything about the design is the same.

I would not bother installing a S4 or S5 turbo on an FD, the cost of the custom downpipe would be more than the cost of a used set of twins.

S6 & S8 twins are the same footprint with only internal changes, completely the same externally. Even S6 twins we have seen over 350whp.

You will NEVER make as close to the same hp using an FC turbo compared to the FD's twins. Unless you modify them to the point where they're no longer considered a stock S5 turbo.

+1 the T2 and FD exhaust manifolds aren't even close to the same....

actually the FC turbo goes on fairly easily, and the RB 3" downpipe is close to fitting.

Interesting... So if you had an FD and could get a BNR hybrid for an FC on the cheap, its a feasible upgrade.

Thats a shame... A neat piece of engineering sitting on my workbench. Essentially useless here in the states.
