13 lbs of boost!

I just installed a boost guage a few weeks ago and found out I am running 13 lbs of boost on stock turbos and with a stock cal. ecu. (you can see the list of mods) I know this is not good because it can damage the engine. So what do I need to do, Get an aftermarket ecu? If so which one do you recommend? Or get a boost controller? Again what would you recommend? I don't have any "savy" 3rd gen techs around here so that limits some of my options. Will the ecu reduce the boost or just give it more fuel so it won't run to lean? why is the sky blue?

um not possible

Stock ecu has a boost cut of 11psi... So if your running move then that either the map sensor isnt seeing it or you bought a piece of **** boost gauge!

Thats right, you'ed be hitting fuel cut. Check to see if your boost gauge is working properly.

I dunno about that, my turbos spike to 13 psi occasionally (of course I let off the gas pretty quick though heh) and I haven't hit fuel cut yet.. But you, and I, definately need to get new ECU's!

This is what the fuel cut #'s are.

RPM ABS. CUT OFF(PSI) SEA LEVEL CUT OFF(PSI)

1000 26.5 11.8
1500 26.5 11.8
2000 26.5 11.8
2500 26.5 11.8
3000 26.9 12.2
3500 27.1 12.4
4000 27.5 12.8
4500 28.0 13.3
5000 26.9 12.2
5500 26.0 11.3
6000 25.8 11.1
6500 25.4 10.7
7000 25.4 10.7

Mazda took into account that there may be boost spikes at transition and raised the cut-off pressure. Also, boost has to be sustained above the cut-off pressure for a certain period of time before the fuel cut takes place.

the gauge is a defi so I don't think the gauge is a piece of ****. So what you are saying is no matter what upgrades you install the stock ecu will limit boost to 11 lbs? and I don't have to worry about boost spike?

I spoke with my tuner about this, he told me the fuel cut is not instant. It cuts around 11.8 I think he said, but it takes about 2 seconds for the cut to kick in.

If you don't have money, you can do the home depot boost controller to turn it down. The only problem with it is, "you can turn it up" just as easily.

I beleive (even though I don't own one) that you can control boost with the Apexi PFC. Someone can reply if i'm wrong.
