13 or 16 PSI cooling system?
Is The FD a 13 or 16 PSI cooling system? I dont ahve my orginal caps anymore. I was looking throught he computer at work (autozone) and if I put in 93 it tells me it need s 13 PSI cap, but if I put in 94+ it says a 16 PSI cap.
I dont' trust autozone computers too much for our cars though. it calls a 93 rx7 a 4 cylinder turbo engine, and it list a spark plug gap of .040"
Thank for any help.

It's 13 in the US, but for some reason, in Japan, they have lots of 16. Most of the ones that are advertise in the Japanese RX-7 magazine uses 16. I guess you can go either.

Buy (or download for free) a friggen' owner's manual for christ's sake!
The original cooling system pressure was higher. I believe Mazda lowered it in 94 to 0.9 bar (13 psi) as part of a recall.

Hi
Just a heads up about going higher than the original 13psi cap. I am a strong believer that it is best not to mess around with such things as water pressure caps due to the fact that going higher will only result in the pressure (should it exceed 13psi) being placed somewhere else and this somewhere else is more than likely to be the water seals. Hence, stick with the 13!
