For now, unplug your wastegate and precontrol solenoid electrical connectors. That should disable them and put you down to 8psi. If it does get about 8psi, then a boost controller will solve your problem. Keep them unplugged until you install the boost controller.

When you install a boost controler do you plug the percontrol soleniod back in and have the boost controler between the pressure source and the wastgate actuator?

That is one method. I bought two manual boost controllers, one for the precontrol and one for the wastegate and installed them as you describe. Make sure to cap off the other end of those actuators and use something better than a parts-store vacuum cap or else they will leak and overboost in short order.

Sorry, but where abouts are the wastegate and precontrol solenoids in the engine bay? are they easy to get to?

They are easy to reach. Remove the black plastic tank on the top center of the engine bay and these are the two solenoids behind it, facing forward.

Note the markings on one plug for when you need to plug them back in.

Cheers mate! Will plug them asap!
Just wondering will unplugging these cause any damage? or effect the turbos spooling up? Also will the warning check light come on?
