Didn't the Blue Book value of FD's go up a year or two ago? I remember reading that somewhere a while back. I think that truly shows how rare these cars are becoming since the value of recent used cars almost never rise. Especially a car that is only about 10 years old...

Heck or just once in a while put your car up for sale in the
Autotrader for a higher price where you don't think it would sell like 25k for a stock reman engine. I think it'd work...
I've seen a couple of 30k fixed up FD's....
that wouldnt really work, i believe the used car market is considered a buyers market because there are plenty of alternative cars and most people who are selling their cars probably cant afford to wait for somebody to come along that has the money to buy a 25k stock fd.

well that's where you're wrong bro, those big corporation mentality is all about profit. Why do you think they create so many parts for RX-7 when it is so rare, think about this how many people do you think will own the RX-7 in 30 years time including those that were crashed or burned or involve in some accidents?

don't forget 30 years from now, those RX-7 owners will have enough money and time to fully modified their car includes the sound system, body kits and performance parts.

Actually if everyone just put their cars for sale at a moderately higher then blue book price. Not $70k (come on??)
Then you will see the market value is for that much.
Doesn't matter what blue book value is.
But when people are shopping they will see the going rate for RX-7s. Obviously if you are trying to buy one. You would try to get one at your price range. But if you see everyone else is selling their car for 20k would you sell yours for 15k?

I don' t think you are screwing anybody.
You can sell your **** as much as you want.
But is anyone going to buy it? Probably not.

Screwing somebody would be selling them a car and give them a picture of a car. Thats screwing.

And I think someone did mention this already.

Damn, Mazda for bringing in the RX-8 and i hope more people will total or crash their car as by doing this the value of the car will increase. Sorry for such a jerk, but for the love of the 7, i don't care!
I dont consider the RX-8 something that compeats with the RX-7. Other than the Engine its nothing like the 7. The back resembles a S2000, its got rear door from a saturn, Also i dont consider a car with a back seat a True sports car. Also is massed produced. The 7 is a true sports car that was made with the styleing and technology of cars today. My cusin has a 2000 corvette and side by side you can see the resemblence it has to the FD. Mirrors, body shape, ect. The Ford torus stole our tail lights. I think the RX-7's value will go up with time. But i personaly will never sell my car. There is no other car i dream about. Car's i would like to drive yes, but none i would like to own other than the FD. By far its the funnest car to drive and to work on. The RX-8 can't touch the 7.

Thats what I'm saying. There will still be "modified" rx7's around, but if someone were to keep their stock rx7 with 50k true miles in thier garage for another 30 years, it would be worth a shitload. Then again it would be a waste having it just sit there, unless you have another one parked on your driveway

So wouldn't this mean a lot less people would own an rx7, therefor making the car worth more? I don't know about overseas since they made the fd there until 2002, but in the US ten years from now, I think a good running, stock looking rx7 is bound to be worth more than it is today. Have a

Any of you guys quoting the actual registration #'s of FD's have any idea where you read that info? Those are the numbers that I am most curious about, the production numbers are cool but I just want to know exactly how many there are in the states now after almost 10 years has passed.

I've found it pretty easy to work on so far. Im to process of rebuilding every thing on the car. Its alot easier to work on the most cars, especially after the Twin turbos are gone.
