1.8k hesitation
1.8k hesitation
Well I finally got the rebuild running but when I am at light throttle I get really bad hesitation. Right around 1800rpm I have searched and found some people with the same problem but with no solution. Any ideas?
Are you on stock ecu? If you install an aftermarket ecu, the hesitation should go away. Of course that is if your problem is the same as "some people with the same problem ". I was one of these people. There are different theories on the cause of the hesitation.
1. need to do maintenance- fuel filter- plug wires- plugs- tps out of alignment- etc........doesn't fix it.
2. bad grounds........mixed results, some see decrease some dont.
3. stock ecu is a pos that's telling the car to cut fuel at certain rpms...... from observation, most people fixed it by getting rid of the stock ecu.

There is a classic FD problem with 3K hesitation (actually, it's around 2,800 RPM) that is made worse by low battery, poor grounds, etc., and getting rid of the stock ecu seems to cure it.
Hesitation at 1.8K is not the same, and could be due to a number of problems. What are the operating conditions when this occurs - engine cold, warming up, hot; etc? What mods were done on the rebuild?

I've also just started having this problem recently. 1,500- 2,500 range. On my stock car it doesn't do it while warming up. Car drives perfect. When it gets completely warm, it will then start stumbling in that rpm range. Above that the car runs fine. I also notice that it's much worse with the A/C on.
I'm due for some maintenance, but I don't think it's the fuel filter or plugs. Those things would cause problems over the whole rpm range and not just between 1,500 and 2,500. I'm starting to think it's my A/C.

Yeah im pretty sure I needs some grounds because I noticed it gets bad with headlights on and my volts drop to 13.6 with headlights on and my idle goes with it. I dont think its the alternator because I havent had any dead batteries or anything. So Im hoping to get some time to replace grounds with some 8g tomorrow along with my first fuel filter install (which im not looking forward to.) Ill keep you guys updated.
