Question ¿Turbo me this? ¿Turbo me that?

Im in the market for a new turbo everyone. The stock twins arnt just cuttin it for me. Im experiencing boost cut outs when i speed shift into 3rd often, and my boost goes up to 9psi then drops to 7 or 8. Who would the best aftermarket turbo developer be to slap on my car. I was gonna get the HKS t-51 for christmas but I decided to ask around first. I have heard good things about KKK turbos and Turbonetics. However I havnt seen an FD with a turbo from either one.
HKS t-51?
Greddy t-78 or t-88?
KKK ?
Turbonetics?
Apexi?

Wow. Sounds like you *might* want to diagnose the car first. The boost issues are most likely due to a leak or break in the sequential system yes, but don't give up on them that easy..

What kind of money do you have? I think 10K is about average to do a single upgrade the right way. Unless you have some things already.... All the turbo companies you listed are good... What do you want out of the car? Numbers or performance? Need something to work with before we can help... I could recommend a billion different setups and never get close to what you want, ya know?

I would tend to agree, the problems you described have nothing to do with the OEM turbos running out of steam. You should easily be able to sustain 16psi at good charge temps with the OEM's. People run mid 11 second quarter miles on stock turbos and stock blocks so I'd save your money and buy something important like one of my intercoolers : P (kidding). Honestly though just fix what you have, maybe go non sequential to simplify.

I ordered the Apexi AX75F92 with P27 hot side A/R 1.04 but still waiting for it. It's about the same size like the T51R-KAI but much more efficient at lower boost and faster response.

What purpose you need the single for? Drag/strip,Auto X,Street racing? What numbers you want? How fast spooling you want it to be?

KKK are said to be good turbos but no much feedback on them. Greddy are easy rebuild but i prefer a ball bearing for quicker response although many will tell that lag on a T78 is not a problem. HKS T51R-KAI is a great turbo but you need serious porting for it ang it is kinda laggy you know, but you get good numbers out of it. If you getting the HKS then chose the BB one. About Turbonetics many say they are ok many don' reccomend them although they are cheaper than others.

I hope this helps.
