there is a shitload of info on this, i've been sorting through it for a couple of days and this is something to consider, mbc may need to be adjusted periodically depending on temp etc, electronic ones can be adjusted from in the car. decent mbc are about 100-120 bucks (ceramic ball and spring hallman) and you really need two of them, a electronic (greddy profec type s ) can be had for $300 on ebay, and from what I can tell from what I've read will be a better setup for various reasons, basically for the price dif I am going to shoot for ebc. If you go real cheap and make your own the price diff is obviously more of a consideration.

MBC is ok. However, using an EBC puts a "smarter" device controlling your wastegate. Many people have also notice the turbos being much more responsive with an EBC controlling the wastegate.

EBC > MBC from experience

I tried a turboXS, homedepot, and "voodoo" boost controller and they all pale in comparison to the profec b spec2 I got last month. The EBC is just better in every way, more accurate, better response, and gives you warning lights when you spike or overboost.

just buy electronic. it works better, its easier to use...no reason not too since you can get a very nice greddy b spec for around 300. and if need be you can use the hi and lo settings for warmer and cooler weather if its a problem for you.

EBC anticipates Max boost setting and delays the opening of the wastegate until it has to open, giving you faster spool. MBC starts to open wastegate early since it always allows manifold pressure to the actuator.

is there an ebc that can be mapped per rpm? example: 17psi at 3000rpm tapering down to 14 at redline?
