**AGGRIVATING EXHAUST PROBLEM!!** please help

while in gear or from a stop to take off.....i get grinding from myexhaust onto the tranny tunnel! i tried solving the problem by getting a torque dampner....this helped pprevent ALOT of the grinding noise....i guessed that the motor wwas moving too much. so i checked motor mounts...diff mounts and ppf. everything was ok....what else could be making this noise??...im starting to think the 2 braces in the tunnel are grinding on my exhaust...what could be causiing this? or could something else be grinding? should i remove the 2 braces?(dont these braces protect the drive shaft in some way? please help w any of ur experiences thanks!...also exhaust lines up right

p.s on thing could remmber doing when replacing my motr was swapping one of the motor mounts.....i always heard 1 mount is biiger than the other..may i have put in the wrong motor mount???

Are the heat shield bent down? My motor mounts looked and checked out fine but i felt the entire engine lift when i gassed it in the upper rpm/powerband. check out getting the poly mount and they arent much. other than that maybe the diff mounts?

If you have cheapie midpipe/downpipe, many times they don't fit for crap and you'll have fit problems. I bought a cheap midpipe off Ebay just for testing once - it pulled my exhaust upwards, and the exhaust would bump into the frame of the car when starting from a stop. After I dumped that and put on my SMB high-flow cat, I have NO fit problems.

A few things I would check:

1. Make sure your shifter mount is is not rubbing on the tranny tunnel opening. This can happen if you don't proper align the driveline when replacing the engine.

2. Get under the car and tug on the exhaust. See if it has any free play.

how come i havent heard of this problem?lol if nothing is solved by the weekend we can try putting it on jack stands and one of us gets under the car while the other revs the engine. or maybe if we get lucky...we can get my dads cars out of the garage and use the lift.

if all else fails turn the radio up.

thanks to everyone for thew help.i put the car on a lift today and found out that its actually the TOP of my exhaust hitting the ppf......so i thought it was an easy solution>> i heat melted some of it off ...and took it for a spin and it got better....but not enough i opted to cut more off but then i thought i didnt think it would be safe...so i clamped my exhaustand put a bracket so it would pull the exhaust to the passenger side father away from the ppf....this helped ALOT....but iu think it would put streess somewhere else like the v band on the turbo ect.

now my next question is what should i do to pull the exhaust further away from the ppf???
