Thumbs up $200 M2 style polished Stainless Steel Down Pipe from Corksport

I don't have close up pics yet but it's the same studless and polished design that both M2 and R.M.S. sells for $300.00 but Corksport's is 80mm (>3").

They just finished the prototype and the production ones will have their emblem/badge welded to it.

my opinion on the polished part:
Your only gonna see it if its flipped over, or you a bug. I dont think that having it polished it going to do anything for performance, or show? I dunno if they used that to jack up the price or not..

This is the same design that M2 makes for $350.00 and RtrMtrSprts copies for $300.00

Can be installed without the turbo stud removal.
It's polished for better air flow and heat coating should stick better as well. $200 "new"!

A mild steel unpolished HKS sells for the same price as Corksports Stainless Steel, polished, studless version.

I fail to see any negatives here? I have seen "used" ones sell for $200!

Well, some of the guys in CA have been busted since their "polished" (whatever) DP sticks out like a sore thumb. Now they need their old pre-cat back to pass emissions. I say stealth - always. A pipe is a pipe is a pipe, mandrel bent, crimped, mild, stainless, PVC (j/k)whatever.

The difference is not detectable unless you are running 1500 hp.

As long as it does not rub, leak and is "reasonably" easy to fit it's all the same. It's a ******* tube.

Holly McCrap ! It's a better tube for the "SAME" money? Maybe some people allways see the glass 1/2 empty?

<- From CA and will have his Jet-Hot coated in grey to match the stock parts.

Next batch is available in a couple weeks. They will ship directly to Jet-Hot for you. Call Jet-Hot to open an account. I haven't got the quote yet but it's about $60 for inside & out 2000 degree grey coating.

It's just the lighting in the picture, SS isn't very gold looking in person. Now after it has been on the car for a while and been through many many heat cycles the metal does get a goldish-purple tint to it sometimes..

Arrow The whole story from my point of view "only"

I received the prototype and unfortunately took their word before seeing it, fitting it and heat coating it. I was assured it fit just as good as M2's version for less money but it did not fit correctly.

Since I first promoted it, I had to share the results with you guys whether it was good or bad. The results were bad and the outcome was handled very poorly.

The outcome could have just as easily been; the prototype was bad but they handled it excellently and are correcting their fist batch so don't be afraid of getting a bad one since their customer service is excellent ...but that did "not" happen!

Brief outline:
1.Tried to order on the web but oder did not ask for payment.
2. I emailed the following day to floow up on order.
3. I called the following day after that and had to replace order over the phone. I then paid for 2day fed-x since it was 3 days later.
4. one week for jet hat to receive for coating.
5. Another week for coating to be done and shipped.
6. Now on 3rd week waiting for fed-x delivery.
7. Get help with some friends for install on weekend.
8. Now 4th week I call to explain the design is bad.
9. I was asked to try different install methods.
10. No luck, so mechanic says ship it back he wants to reinstall it himself to see if I am installing it correctly.
11. Signed for on Mon morning of 5th week.
12. Called on Tue, was told they just received it at 4pm tue and would install on wed. (see previous step).
13. Called wed was told they were still testing it.
14. Called thurs was told owner would call me back.
15. Called Friday and asked for owner on my cell phone on my birthday ...all day long. Put on hold every time I called. I never got through to him, nor did he call me back.
16. Now going on the 6th week I spoke with the owner and was told he could tell me nothing and could do nothing and that I would have to wait for a call from another owner.
17. After waiting all weekend to post my thread and after that conversation I felt I was taken advantage and I was the one that promoted them which makes me look like a jack ***, so I post my results.
18. The only thing edited on the emails and converstains I posted was my name.
19. Next day I got a phone call from 1st owner stating I should read his email for the offer of resolution.
20. I posted his offer and my reply.
21. The 2nd owner finally calls me and was curteous but his resolution stood at fix it myself and $50 credit. He then offered me a used HKS and offered to heat coat it.
I inquired about their profuction batch and tried to compromise to wait for test fitment of them but we both didn't think it would be any better than the prototype. I said i'd let me know the following day which I would choose. I explained with the money I spent I could have purchased an M2. No refund offered allthough I did not depand it as I was trying to compromise.
22. Receiving three different offers to purchase a used DP, my turbos leaking oil, not being offered a refund, I accept the used HKS with heat coating.
23. Today I receive a call from Rich stating he received a copy of the other threads and would have given me a refund weeks ago. I don't know, you decide yourself.

To be fair, I don't think he thought of the used HKS as a bad trade but rather to get my car on it's feet quickly and resolve the issue. If they would have taken me seriously when I first called and notified him of the problem about the fitment he may resolved it alot better.

--> I am replying to this thread to show I was giving my experience (good or bad) and it could just as easily been me promoting an excellent experience. Oh and thanks to the RX7Store for letting me share this so we can all benefit. ...and i'd like to thank my director "lol".

Feeling taken advatage of thread "Click Here"

Wow, WHAT a hassle. Kudo's to you for keeping your cool through this whole thing, and taking notes.
I would have been at their door with my 12 gauge pump and a whole lot of 'tude.

If you made your purchase with a credit card you still have lots of recourse available to make things right.

I think they should apolgize to you profusely and offer you a free dp and $100 credit to make amends, but it sounds like you would probably just prefer to fughedaboudit and take your next purchase elsewhere -and who can blame you?

I don't understand how some businesses can treat their customers so poorly........

Thanks Ron and everone else that replied to the other posts!

On the 1st step I said I started on a Mon but it was actually a wed the week previous and it was on Fri that Derrec called and said someone would call me on Mon. That was good customer service but they did not follow through. So it has actually been six weeks (but three of the weeks include shiping back and forth, heat coating and test fitting).

Furthermore, when I first ordered I was told the 1st batch of production was sold out and they would send the the prototype so I wouldn't have to wait for the next batch. That was not true, I was the prototype ginny pig.

I paid by ATM-M/C but was told I would have a check sent to me and will post if I actually receive the check. I should have been instantly credited back to my card but a refund is a refund.

My intent of the posts was not blackmail and if I told them about the posts then that would have changed the outcome. As I said, I would have posted positive results as well and it was to share with everyone here.

Gah...they sound like a great shop though. They were pretty courteous (If a wee bit blunt) when I called them the other day to schedule an overhaul of my RX-7.

They must do good work, simply because they're booked till the beginning of summer next year.

Shiat...I guess I'll just work on my suspension, tires, bushings..what not until then...

Props to you for not flipping out...I don't play those games. If I pay for something, I expect to get results.

Espescially, when I'm about to invest over 10,000 buckaroos in money....you can damn well bet if it isn't perfect, there's gonna be some hell raised.

There's always the Better Business Bureau, which I'm rather fond of, cuz they take care of you when you get screwed over.

It's great to see when companies will step up and accept responsiblity like that. It just sucks that you had to go through all that garbage to get it taken care of.
