I'm curious as to how many people with Vmounts have screens on their bumper to stop rocks etc from bending IC and Radiator fins?
I've done about 1,000 miles on mine and already have a few bent fins. 🥺 Looks 90s/2000s H.I.N style, but, may save money and headache to add a screen.
it can be done tastefully. fine mesh aluminum "chicken wire" painted black can work. from my own car after 7 years just open with no screen, i have very little damage on my v mount. i think its more so WHERE you drive and not necessarily how you drive. my car spends more time on the highway than on city roads so that may have something to do with it. honestly youll be fine without it.
I used gutter mesh from Home Depot, $20 and they are already coated. The AC condensers are usually pretty smashed up on all my daily, that's why I decided to help out the Vmount a bit with a screen, especially I don't have a condenser in front as a shield
That looks pretty nice actually.
Thanks for the name of the screen, I'll have to pick some up.
What did/how did you attach it to the bumper?
Previously (shown in pic), I used 3 plastic push pins (not really needed) on the bottom and 2 zip ties on the top. Since I've been troubleshooting the past year, I've been running it resting inside the bumper without any mounts and it still stays .
I have an aluminum rod that run across the rebar mounted to the foglights mount holes, and the screen is ziptied to the rod. The bottom is sandwiched between the radiator and bumper so it doesn't move, and I added a few ziptie to the 3 holes on the bumper.
Yeah, I do not have a 2nd cooler. I have the cooler and all the parts, but I never have the need to add another cooler so it has been on the back burner for years.

Interesting, what's wrong with them? Mine has been on the car for 6 years, still looks the same as the day I put it on, but I don't do any racing just regular street driving.
I live in the country, we have debris, stones and sticks all over. Honestly, a little worried about either a rabbit or snake as well. That would get messy. Run over a couple snakes in my daily.
The HD quality mesh deforms easily. The wire is not as thick or sturdy as the stuff I linked to. It also is not painted so doesn't exactly look pretty.
