Trunk floor solutions?

Hi
I am not sure if this is the case for all FDs, but at least my Euro spec one does not come with a proper trunk "floor". All i have is a mat who is put directly on the steel. There is also some kind of plastic cover for the spare wheel.

So my question is, have anyone went and made a proper trunk floor? My struggle is that i dont have anywhere to fasten things like the Fire extinguishers and when ever i try to put anything back there it just rattle around when i make turns, ruining the interior covers.

So i would like to make a floor of some sort, that i can mount things in and also strap down **** with. Also, making a tool/storage space where the spare tire is would be cool. Anyone ever done something similar before and got some ideas or tips?

It would be really easy to bolt down some spring loaded hooks to the rear metal floor. This would allow you to strap down anything you want:

Look in my build thread and see how I created a wood sub-floor that allows for fuel pump access. The bottom section is held down by the existing Bose body studs by recessing the nut areas on the plywood.

The hatch straps are a really nice touch... if you can find a set:
