Like I am sure a lot of people do; I search my local Craigslist listings a lot for random stuff.

I've seen this "project" rx7 up there for a couple months now.

Mazda Rx7 93 FD

So. Just how bad of an idea would it be to think about buying this? Assuming you are average with your hands and mind? Let's say as a track car and not specifically back to street use.

I'm not looking to pick it up...I'm just curious as always.

Pretty bad idea. It'd have to be really cheap, like maybe 2-3k and then only as a track car. You know you're gonna be undoing hours of other people's mistakes just by the sheer disorganization of parts in all those pictures. If a man's workspace is a disorganized mess, there's a good chance his work is also a disorganized mess haha.

looks like an absolute nightmare, and this is coming from someone (myself) who typically does that type of work (as in complete rebuilds)...

You'd be better off setting a pile of money on fire IMO

If the engine is legit. That alone is worth an easy 2k

If the title is clean, no rust etc... the roller is worth an easy 3k

Offer 4k after you verify compression.

You can't get hurt too bad at that price and you might have fun in the process

I've seen much worse deals. Good luck!

PS scratch that. Just looked at pics of the car and as mentioned this is likely junk. Offer 3k if the engine is good LOL. If I was close by I'd definitely check it out.

I had no intention of getting it. I've just noticed it being there for some time...and wondered what some more knowledgeable people would think of it.

Thanks for the replies guys!
