Rattle at idle after ac compressor changed

Hey guys -

just had the ac compressor changed on my car and now there is a rattle coming from what sounds like the exhaust manifold area. Here are the symptoms:

- start car and at idle the rattle occurs in a non rhythmic way
- once car warms up it goes away

I checked the heat shields around the Turbos and all looks and feels tight.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Steve

The ac compressor is on the other side of the bay. This just might be a coincidence that it started rattling after you had the AC compressor changed. Sounds like whatever it is the heat makes it expand and it doesn't rattle any more.

Can you post up a video?

Also have an abnormal boost pattern now. Was 12-10-12 before the change and it's now 10-6-8.

Just pulled the entire intake assembly apart and found a loose hose at the vertex of the Y but fixed it and it didn't change the boost.

Double mystery. Video of sound coming.

Hey Steve

Recommend getting under the car and checking the wastegate actuator arm, possible the small c-clip came off the arm. Also take a peak at all the fasteners and gasket/sealing areas. Do this when the car is cooled off

Thanks rich. I'll take a look. I did find a split in the hose going to the y vertex. Just duct taped it and it's a bit better. Now gets to 7 psi on secondary.

Also boost needle used to be rock solid on the gauge. Now it bounced around and looks shaky. Air is leaking from somewhere.

Actuators clipped in properly. Just gonna replace the intake hoses and go from there.
