So... 3rd Gens... Amirite?!

I've had my FD going on 23years now, was my daily for 20;
Well over 200,000+ total miles;
Normal maintenance, but not obsessive;
Appropriately modded, but not ridiculous;
Often rode hard and put away wet, so to speak--I don't baby my cars, I drive them.
And after all these years of beating on it, the FD has never stranded me, regardless of the issues I've had. The FD is actually one of the more reliable cars I've owned and I've been driving 40 years.

I've driven 20k miles since 09/14. If my car wasn't in the paint booth getting a light restore for 2 months, it would have more. Its maintenance to keep up with a high power older vehicle. Sure I was stranded one time out of my ownership where I needed a tow. But other then that I have been able to get the car to a shop to fix or replace parts.
But I also spent almost 2x on top of what I paid for the car in upgrades, oem replacements, and paint job.

Been daily driving the FD for 17 years and never been stranded.
The only vehicle that's left me stranded is my ford F350 diesel that I bought brand new back in 2005. It's happened twice and I've spent 10k plus maintaining and repairing it and I do 1/2 the work myself. Actually just did the rear brakes last night and told my wife to be sure they don't stick (calipers are known not to release/retract) and over heat before she takes it out of town today. Nothing is easy with those damn trucks not even the brakes.

I daily my FD as well. About 28 miles a day I drive it. Starts everyday, drives like a queen getting thumbs up on the highway, sits pretty in the parking lot and patiently awaits my return for the drive home. I might actually regret getting a daily LOL. It's just got so much soul with its tape deck player and the cassette aux in adapter.
Just need to get some brighter headlights.

Fd's are totally reliable. It is the owners that **** them up. Seriously... In relative stock form they always start and won't leave you stranded. Even with a blown engine these babies will still drive you home... Say that to a piston counterpart
Of course just like any other vehicles anything can go wrong. Like a coolant hose splitting but the FD is not any more prone to leave on the side than a civic.

Have had 2 different blown engines in 17 years.
First one, original engine low compression (previous owner, maintenance?), normal driving on a cold day, towed the car to Rotary Performance.
Second engine at the track, drove 90 miles with bad idle, but made it home.

Mine has left me stranded once or twice, but admittedly it was user error. If I can take anything away from my experience, it would have to be that support mods are your friend.
