Looks like is an RS built in October 1997. I believe the RS had the from 96 and up had the 4.30 final drive like the RZ. Should also have dual oil coolers. Not sure with the RD means but it could have something to do with the back seat. I believe this was also the last year for Efini before they switched to Mazda
Its a Type RS-R in black. Essentially a 1/500 RS that only came in black or yellow to commemorate the 30th anniversary. Came with different instrument cluster and passenger footplate. Along with the rest of RS extras

There's a LOT of misinformation that runs rampant with anything made for the mystical land we call Japan, as well as upbadging too. If your license plate starts with HPM it is the only RS-R in cyprus. Despite missing the passenger footrest and the instrument cluster yes it is a genuine RS-R. Production wasnt numbered like the spirit R but supposedly there are only 500 RS-R globally.
