Replacement fuel tank

What's the going rate for a new Fuel tank p/n: F111-42-110A
Most sites are saying around $600. Would mazda motorsport be the best way to go?
This is what the inside of a fuel tank looks like after sitting for 11 years...

I'm not sure if it's worth the effort when i can buy a new one and not have to ever worry about it rusting again. I think i'll be heading over to Atkins rotary. Seems like that would be the cheapest option at this point.

I think a lot of old-car guys would say it doesn't look so bad, considering

Hahaha, thanks. gonna need a fuel pump hanger and level sender. Might as well take care of it in one shot.

Tank part number doesn't include the hanger...which is usually the worst affected by rust.

I'm pretty sure the new tank, loses the drain bung, gains a better slosh bowl...and maybe loses the provision for the mounting of the expansion tank??

I'd be tempted to just use deoxidine (phosphoric acid) to neutralize the surface corrosion...maybe that's in the video, don't have the patience to sit through 30mins of that though!

So can a 95 tank be installed in a 93? What's the differences between the two? iirc the F111-42-110A has the updated baffles and pickup cover plate? So what's the difference with the F124-42-110A?

93 Rx7 Gas Tank (F111-42-110A)

95 Rx7 Gas Tank (F124-42-110A)

Looks like the first one has provision for the expansion tank mount where the push pins go. Second one is missing the mount, later cars had a tee between the two breathers and then continued on to the carbon canister.

They'll both mount up, probably the late one is missing the drain, which is a pita I find. Worth your while to scavenge the rub strips off your old tank too.
