Removing water pump stud

Just want to check in before I break something.
Installing an idler pulley and as you can see the stud is barely long enough to fit the supplied nut..
Would a stud extractor work best here? I can't really fit 2 nuts on it to remove it, but I don't want to strip the stud... not get it out, and then really have issues.
Any ideas welcome.

Disregard this post. Mods can delete if they want... just paranoid. I will use a vise grip and if that fails a stud remover...
