Rear Quarter Panel Dent Repair

Has anyone ever gotten a dent knocked out that is just above the rear wheel? I was hoping to get a couple dents removed in that area without having to repaint.

I saw some threads saying that area is inaccessible but was wondering if anyone had figured it out. Maybe access through the rear taillight or something else?

I had success using PDR, went in through the interior by the jack pockets. Looks perfect. He also did a few in the roof which never thought possible.

Thanks Bill. I took a quick look at that area through the jack and it is pretty tight without clear access to the fender. Did you have a complete interior when PDR was performed or were the trunk plastics removed?

Many times the PDR guys will drill inconspicuous access holes and then install circle plugs. The rear quarter panel area is difficult to access because it has many layers.

All my plastic pieces were installed. Tight but he got in there without making any holes. The plastics can be taken off just go slow. I did them before the guy started myself just to be safe

The tail lights were a dead end for me. It’s mostly closed up behind them. But it’s easy to take them off. If you do remove them they slip out sideways. Make sure to find a really good PDR place. Amazing what they can do.

They could try going in after removing the tail light. It is a very difficult spot to get at and probably won't be perfect but depending on the skill of the technician can get 9/10.

I've had PDR done on the quarter panels. To give the PDR guy easy access, I removed the interior plastics from the b pillar and trunk and also removed the seat belt assembly.

Thanks for the thoughts. I had the quarter panel dents glue pulled and it turned out well, so I am happy.

Access through the tail light was tough with the gas tank door in the way.

I just had some PDR done on the passenger quarter. I pulled the interior panel, removed the speaker and seatbelt. It had a grapefruit sized hole behind the seatbelt retractor that gave good access to the panel.

Drilling holes is the cheap way of doing it. A good PDR guy will be able to remove the vast majority of dents without drilling any holes.
