Passenger footplate RHD

Hi,

For some reason my type RZ is missing its passenger footplate.
Does anyone know where i can find one, or which one is the closest to original?

I know Car Shop Glow sells one, and there is a cheaper one called Okayama Carbing passenger plate.
Does anyone have one, or do you know where i can find an OEM one, or maybe just the part # ? The OEM ones seem hard to come by.The passenger side footwells area really, really deep and my passengers want something to strain against

Thanks!

The quickest way to find a replacement is Yahoo Auctions Japan. The footrest is super easy to find too since they're always listed for sale. About $150-200 USD

Type FD3S RZ into the search on yahoo auctions and you're golden.

Once you find one you'll need to use a proxy. JapanPost has a huge list of reputable proxy companies that deliver to your door.

We make a 100% accurate replica of the RHD unit... but have been trying to get non-RZ RHD owners to help us make an adapter bracket (as the RZ cars have threaded floor bolts). We've sent out almost 10, and the only response we ever get is "looks amazing mate, perfect fitment, just made a little adapter" and then we never hear back from them.

Anyway for this reason we've never listed them on the website but we do have them in stock... we've got a few left, but really need a RHD non-RZ guy to help us test fit so we can make the adapter bracket to fit it to all RHD cars. If you're interested shoot me an email info@sakebombgarage.com and or I can post pics here if anyone would like to take a look.

It's a 100 point replica down to the mm, and even the finish is indistinguishable from the original Mazda unit.

LHD guys, we've got a LHD version that bolts in, and are doing another production run of them next week as they've been sold out.

Aftermarket Carbing option from Japan:

OKUYAMA Carbing Passenger Plate - RHDJapan

I think RHDJapan can also source the official part as well.

Interesting, a new one would look great! I might just take you up on buying one SBGarage.
Do you supply the bolts for the RHD version to fit a Type RZ? Is the price the same as the LHD version?
What is it you need to make a bracket, measurements or actual trial and error fabrication to copy? Can I (with a type RZ) be of any help?

Thanks everyone for all the help, hopefully this thread will help others RHD drivers to find a suitable foot plate!

Just search for "Marcus Read" on facebook- his profile picture is a white FD RX7. He carries (and can get) all the OEM parts for the RZ, and he also has the OEM passenger foot plates as well.

He will help you out "MATEY"

(sorry, its an in-joke about Marcus..)

Any RHD Non-rz available ? I really don't mind making my own brackets for my 92

MARCUS READ IS A REALLY ODD GUY (inside joke )
But yes Marcus can probably help with new parts. We've got new replicas that I'm sure would be way cheaper than the Mazda OEM unit new, and everything is 100% identical down to the millimeter and the finish. The problem is, we don't know how to instruct non RZ owners to mount it to the car... we need someone to help make an adapter mount, otherwise this "product" isn't much you can do anything with.

We've talked about modifying tabs to interface with the stock chassis and deleting the welded tubes that are on the stock RZ footrest in favor of a couple firewall tabs like on our LHD version, but we need someone willing to help for cheap parts. We've already sent out nearly 10 of these, offering a discounted price for RHD customers to help us solve it, but every time without skipping a beat we don't get any response back.... so it's either really hard or super easy and they don't want to bother.

info@sakebombgarage.com or you can post in this thread.

I'm also running a RHD '93 R1 and may be able to help you out. I guess it depends if my wife wants it in there since she's my main co-pilot. I'll sell her on the idea hahaha.

Odd is a word. One word. fdrx7.com, the Aussie based forum, has an on-going STICKIED thread titled "Why you shouldn't buy anything from Marcus Reed" to warn anyone considering doing business with him. I think the thread was started by an Admin. Pretty convincing.
