options for FD gas door stop?

hello!

I am in posession of an FD that the prior owner had removed the gas door release lever, cable, and doorstop (inside of gas door jamb).

Does anyone know of any alternatives that do not use the lever? i.e. a spring tension door, push in/out release, or just a clip-in? I am not a fan of the gas door levers as it is, and I am getting slightly irritated at seeing my gas door popped open about 1/4 - 1/2 inch after every drive. Any input is appreciated

You maybe could dig around in the junkyard and get some parts off other cars to see if you can make something work. That said, the stock gas door system is pretty simple, and I do like that Mazda used one lever for the hatch pop and gas door - weight savings!

It's not very...robust. But it doesnt have to be unless you're careless. So I've got no real issues with the stock release assembly. My recommendation is buy used or new replacement and not cheap out like the previous owner apparently did.
