sweet. Now it’s more interesting to me. Did it come painted in black or does it need to be painted ? Then photos on their website show it looking black by itself but then looks more gray in the photos of it mounted.

An idea if it's not the color you want - I got a Shine front lip spoiler and it was unpainted fiberglass. Took it to a local vinyl wrap place and had them wrap it in satin black vinyl. I think it was only $100 or so, turned out OEM looking and has held up really well.

Here is mine installed. My only question is with the rear side lips. I bought them and I was trying to avoid drilling the diffuser. Does someone knows an easy way to install the rear side lips?

its that dark grey color. I didn't paint mine and don't plan on paint it for now. I would consider skinning it with CF at some point maybe..

I pulled my bumper finally. Here are some photos of how it’s bolted

Bumper bolted to the diffuser. Noticed the bumper seemed to conform to the diffuser, but then the lower bumper bolt shown no longer aligned to the body - the diffuser appears to be too narrow.

Left side - removed the bolts attaching the side of the bumper to the diffuser to allow alignment of the lower bumper bolt to the body.

Similar gap on the right side.

Melted stock valance.

The stock valance melted due to poor clearance with an Apexi muffler.

That's a shame about the width/gap. That little center vent would be perfect for a diff/trans cooler install.

For those that have identified they are too narrow, has Z1 replaced or made suggestions? I am debating on this diffuser but wondered if they fixed their old or whatever issue is causing the shrinkage.

Z1 responds actively to their facebook, I asked them about shrinkage on my diffuser, and they sent over some measurements of their mold piece for comparison. The diffuser I received measures exactly to the references they sent over, so mysteriously my car just happens to be 1.5" wider than normal on both ends? (Hopefully not a sign of hidden accident history...?) But I'm very happy with the support they gave me troubleshooting this. They can probably help answer more of your questions.

Here are those references Z1 sent over of their mold piece, maybe you can measure the mounting spots on your car to be sure it's a clean fit before you purchase.

Z1 Mold Piece - Measured End-To-End on the bumper mounting location. I didn't have an issue with these mounting spots, but further down, my car seems to widen further than the diffuser.

Z1 Mold Piece- Measured end-to-end on the rear mudguard mounting holes, closest to the rear wheel. If you measure the distance between these two holes on your car, and they measure around 55"-56", it should install cleanly. The distance on my car was like 59", so it didn't reach the mounting spots.

As for me, Z1 offers side lips that go on the side of the diffuser. These seem like good pieces to hide a wider mounting bracket for my strangely fat FD.
It also seems like a good piece that flows with a feed style side skirt, if that's a look you're going for.

Hi Jesturr,

Appreciate you responding to that. I currently have the Shine RE1 Pro with the center and side vortex. It looks too aggressive for my tastes. I am likely to remove and try to sell it online with this diffuser as its replacement. I hope my FD is not a strangely wide version as well, but your measurements should help a lot.

same issue

I installed the diffuser as well and I'm getting the same "too wide" issue. the two square holes on either side to bolt to the body are not lining up with the mount on the diffuser.

Glad I didn't buy this... why would they sell it if it doesn't fit, thought they had a good reputation on their Z products.

mine fits perfect. Not sure why a few people are having issues. my car is a 95 LHD I don't think that should matter but maybe it does.

Did you take the bumper completely off to install it?

can you post a pic? I bolted mine up fully with the bumper off and it all looked great. perhaps we can take measurements on the FDs that don't match up vs those that do. my car is a 94 LHD.

My car is stripped to the bare shell right now for paint/restore. I still have the diffuser attached to the bumper though. it will be next year before I have it back together.

Honestly as with anything fiberglass each batch can fit different, especially if they are sub contracting the part to other companies which I imagine they are. If it makes you feel better, the SHINE AUTO RE STREET DIFFUSER I bought Also fits like absolute garbage so I trimmed it down to fit the quarters better and need to figure out how to get it to line up on the bumper better or I'll just sell it. I hate doing fiberglass body work, its such a pain.

does anyone have any updates or solutions to this issue? I've yet to get a response from the vendor.

Thread might be dead. I had this diffuser in mind but I'm going to pass, they raised the price like $50 bucks for something that might not fit properly. Happy I found this thread. Gonna go with the DAMD diffuser.

FWIW, i am probably going to visit Z1Motorsports early next week and take a serious look at a Twinz diffuser. the thread is helpful as it raises possible fitment issues. their site shows a Type 1 and ("improved design") Type 2 and both are in stock.

i visited Z1 today. a very large, very modern facility with some well engineered iron in the showroom. all Nissan. i did not return w the diffuser. my car measured 55/56 inches and the diffuser measured just over 58. they only have one. it is a "Type 2." a bit scuffed but if it had been a fit i would have grabbed it. $560.

they get two shipments a year from Twinz originating from Puerto Rico.

i am going to contact TwinZ.
