New TwinZ Design Rear Diffuser

So a new rear diffuser is on the market by TwinZ Design and being sold by Z1Motorsports.com. A friend of mine has parts purchased from them for his 300zx and says that they are quality and fitment is excellent. So this is an alternative to buying a street diffuser from Shine. Current price is $419 (Plus shipping is my guess). Anyone have one of these installed yet? I did a search on the forum and didn't find anything yet. Personally I like the look of it and the fact that I can install it into the stock location is even more appealing.

I don't know anything about them, but I am currently in the market for one. I just ordered fender vents from shine. So far I am pleased with them.

Best looking one I've seen

ItalynStylion 05-31-19 07:02 AM

Wow yeah, that's actually pretty decent looking.

I didn't know twinZ made parts for the FD, they make good stuff for the z32.

Looks really sharp, it's unique looking for sure. I'd run that on my car.

I also like that it covers the plastic over the exhaust where it frequently gets melted from crappy exhausts. That's a neat way to cover/fix that problem if the trim is melted.

Wow that does look pretty nice!
Haha dale PO melted my rear trim with the hks superdragger exhaust, before I put racing beat on it. This would hide that for sure!

Interesting to see where it comes from. Pretty cool. http://www.speedhunters.com/2019/06/...nz-design-z32/

I bought one. My local friend picked it up for me. I will be getting it next month when I see them next. I will post some photos when I get it and install it.

I look forward to knowing about fitment.

The diffuser looks pretty modern, and the price seems to be pretty good. Always love seeing new product for our cars :icon_tup:

Sgtblue 06-05-19 11:04 AM

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how/where does it mount?

Yeah it seemed like a good option. I really wanted the RE-A Street diffuser but it wouldn't work well with my Feed rear wide body. I wish I could have got it in Carbon Fiber but I think this will look good regardless.

We will find out in July when I pick mine up from my buddy and get it fitted. I will be at Deals Gap when I get it but I am bringing tools so hopefully can install it when I'm there.

Wish it covered the entire lower bumper

Supposedly, it fits where the black plastic piece goes under the bumper. Supposedly it means no drilling holes in sheet metal or you bumper. I'm anxious to see how it is installed as I would like to get one for my car as well.

Sgtblue 06-06-19 11:08 AM

Yeah, I figured that would be the case for the trailing edge that meets the bumper cover. IIRC there are captured screws for the OEM trim piece.
Maybe it’s just not a good enough photograph, but I just didn’t see any corresponding holes in the diffuser for the OEM mounting points. And there still should be some mounting provision on the sides and leading edge.
I usually lean toward the stock look , but have to admit I like the looks of the piece. But I’d want the mounting to be easily reversible without a crap-load of drilling.
Looking forward to Venom’s feedback.

I am hoping that is the case for install. I will take pictures and such when I get it and install. I'm hoping it wont take too long to do because I will be doing it at Fontana Dam Village in the mountains of North Carolina in the middle of July.

I will get it July 10th or 11th and hopefully install it that day.

i absolutely love the look of this piece, and will also be purchasing once your review on it comes through venom.
if it truly does use the oem mounting points, and fitment is like it is in the pictures, SOLD !

I'll be waiting for the review/pictures from members before going all in on it. I do like the design but i'm still set on the Shine Street for the time being. But i do like seeing new products come out for the FD and hoping to constantly see more!

the Shine RE-A Street is definitely my favorite but it doesn't work well with Feed rear widebody. It could be trimmed to work but for the cost of that plus shipping I didn't want to cut anything. I really wish this came in carbon but I think it will look good as it kind of looks like a factory finish. I used to own a 370z and have bought parts from Z1 Motorsports before so I was surprised to see an FD part coming from them. I didn't want to pay the $160 shipping or whatever it was so I just have to wait another month to see my friend and get mine.

Bumper has to be removed to install it. I just did a quick install as I needed some more fasteners but I didn’t have any with me. Looks really good. Will look even better when I reinstall.

When you re-install it, can you take some pictures of how it's mounted on the inside of the bumper? Thanks and it looks good. Did you paint it or does it come painted?

Sgtblue 07-09-19 05:46 PM

Appreciate you guinea-pigging this. Also interested in any pictures or details of exactly HOW it installs? It’s been a long time since I really looked, but I didn’t think the bumper cover had to come off to mount the OEM valance. ??

7sins 07-09-19 07:21 PM

I like that look, nice and simple. almost looks like it could be an oem part.

Yeah it will be a while before I do that. But it mounts in the stock locations its pretty straight forward after you remove the bumper. I just installed it as is. It could be painted if you wanted to.

yeah no problem it was a good gamble. It has all the mounting holes already in the part and they line up with the same bolt holes in the bumper and the bolts on the tank straps in the back. It comes in two pieces and with hardware to attach the two pieces together. It is pretty thick fiberglass and feels very strong and High quality. The bumper cover does not need to come off for the OEM Valance but does to install the diffuser you cant get to the mounting points with the big diffuser like you can with the little stock valance.

Ill see if I can get some today. I will check my Tail of the dragon photos some time today also and see if there are any good ones that show the diffuser.
