As the title mentioned these lights stay on sometimes when I turn the car off thus draining my battery. Attached is a picture of what I’m talking about. Any ideas on how to disable them? Do I have to pull a fuse or take apart the steering column and take out the bulbs?
wondering if anyone’s had this issue before.
image is looking at the ignition keyhole. As you can see it’s red and the stick above it has a white/yellow light.
There is a switch in the door handle very near the keyhole. It likely has a live feed, even with the engine off. Check yours (on either side) to see if it is shorting. Normally lifting the handle turns the circuit on. Nice feature that was dropped in later models.
The switch is fed by a short harness that originates from the door harness near to the door opening internal mechanism. Check for shorting there are well.
