Intakes for JDM FD3S

Hi, I just got my 2002 JDM FD3S and it needs a new air filter, wich is a good excuse to get a intake instead

My concern is if the intakes sold onlines for the US FD are compatible with the JDM 2002 RX7? I have searched but didnt get a definitive answer and want to be sure first. I think I will get the Greddy Airnix.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, they're compatible. Although I'm not a fan of that Greddy intake. It sources underhood heated air which isn't ideal. Wouldn't have looked as "cool", but you'd be better off doing a "cheap bastard" modification to the stock airbox with a K & N filter. A box like the M2, SR Motorsports or even a Pettit CAI that source air from the nose would have been a better choice IMO.

That's correct, but I'm getting the greddy intake because of space for a future intercooler or Vmount setup

I just installed the Greddy Airinx intakes and was the hardest intake install of my life, almost nothing fit and should be cut, trimmed or somehow make it fit. definitely not plug and play xD

Also just to be sure can you guys confirm if all the hoses are connected correctly please.

Lower Intake:

Upper intake:

And this bracket of the lower intakes definitely did not fit but atleast it isn't touching anything and it seems really sturdy the lower intake without the bracket screwed.

Finall result:

Something is not right with that lower intake bracket, the position is wrong on yours, it's supposed to bolt to the frame. I just installed mine with the v-mount, other than have to cut the hoses it is pretty easy to install.

Yes, definitely what I thought, that's why I unbolted the bolt of the frame but it didn't came even close... and just to be sure are all my hoses connected right? seen there was no manual and can't find anything online. I just connected them using pure common sense but sometimes it could fail xD

As far as the mount, my intake is designed a little different than your Type-B intake so the lower intake mounting is different. Have you check the orientation of the 90deg elbow? I believe one side of the elbow is longer than the other, maybe try flipping it?

Yes, I try every combination possible with the elbow and intake but isn't possible to make it to any bolt. It's a little too short to come close to any where to bolt it. anyways its working fine and not rubbing anything atleast.
