I agree with those saying $30-something. We've only seen mostly stock cars trade on BAT. I think the number of FD guys that are on there would ease people intio buying a lightly "modded" car. The relatively low miles help. I am thinking $32.5K.

Thanks for the assessment guys. My aim is to disclose everything about the car including the track use (HPDE non competitive) in case that's a flag for some folks. To me, it's a sign of how reliably it performs with the mod package it has.
The enkei RPF1's and toyo R888's below would be part of the deal.

When the guy mentioned it had a yellow coating in the engine bay that was removed I knew we had talked about this car before. Lets see if everyone feels the same way after seeing these pics. Credit to FourtyOunce for finding the old link. The rust on this is way worse than what is on my 95 car that spent its whole life(65K miles) in Wisconsin.

I can't take credit for the link. Someone smarter than me shared the info and I just posted it.

I was looking at this one last year. Only reason why I didn’t buy it was cause I didn’t know California importation rules at the time.

I don't know how I overlooked this before. Credit to Michael for sharing the link.

Agreed.

I just happened to get into an SSM after my first MB and love it even with the horrible repaint my car has.

I remember these photos as well when I was considering the car last year and thought the corrosion was pretty bad given the mileage.

How does this impact value in everyone's opinion ? Or would this turn some of you away entirely ?

Like pink, purple, light green, baby blue etc... they are hard to handle for your shirt color much less your car.

That said for a collector car it's brilliant in lots of ways and I happen to love the FD yellow (with the flakes of gold it softens it some). It is still yellow and not for me.

I'm with David, the SSM is my favorite color overall, then red, then blue, then white, then black, then yellow. These feelings could change tomorrow though because I love all the FD colors LOL

The majority of these low mileage cars that have been on BAT are semi barn finds. Or cars that have been sitting for long periods and then cleaned up. I don't think the value will be affected much and again I think we'll see 35k plus for this POS.......but hey it's a CW 94 with low mileage, clean interior, clean paint, etc....

PS It's at 28k now

I still think $32.5k with the issues and the commentary, but we've seen some really big kicks in bidding in the last few hours. My thinking had been that a really clean 30k mile car in CW would be $40-45k. I would took off $10,000 for the engine and rust and... So, I was thinking $30-35k and picked $32.5k as the midpoint. It could easily hit $35k. I think David's post cleaned things up a lot and bidding could be stronger as a result. Paint costs more than anything else and the CW paint looks good.

Road debris cracked my windshield good enough. Should I replace with OEM or aftermarket? What say ye, value junkies? Anyone tried a windshield laminate for chip protection?

I'm curious if you can find an OEM windshield anymore - I tried a few years back and had no luck. Please let us know if you get one. Thanks!

Hagerty just updated their valuations:
Level 1: $44,500
Level 2: $28,400
Level 3: $18,000
Level 4: $12,500

It's a pretty big jump from the last update in May.

Just checked the auction and it's at 32,500. Not surprised and I think 35k will be the #.

Lots of crazy comments........

The one positive about BAT is the comment section allows folks to trade blows. I can say without hesitation this isn't a car I'd buy and like most of the cars I've seen sell on BAT; I feel for the buyer, or I believe they are overpaying.

I got really tired of the piling on. It's one thing to point out that there's rust and suggest that the seller may be covering that up, but to keep repeating it over and over and over again relentlessly seems wrong. Despite that, it is going to sell for more than my initial estimate of $32.5k. So, the market is incredibly strong for our cars.

If I can go to Autotrader and immediately find 2 cars I'd prefer, BAT might be overpriced: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=480755049&zip=22901 &referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D22901%26modifyS earchId%3Dnull%26startYear%3D1993%26sortBy%3Dderiv edpriceDESC%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0% 26endYear%3D1995%26modelCodeList%3DRX7%26makeCodeL ist%3DMAZDA%26searchRadius%3D0&startYear=1993&numR ecords=25&firstRecord=0&endYear=1995&modelCodeList =RX7&makeCodeList=MAZDA&searchRadius=0&makeCode1=M AZDA&modelCode1=RX7

So would you rather have a barn find rust bucket that's changed hands multiple times or a one owner VR R2 or MB 94 touring I'm betting the VR R2 could be bought for 33k and the MB for 30. We are talking auction with a 5% fee. Trust me, there are MUCH MUCH better deals on these cars than BAT.

Would love to try one/drive one. Still the vibe of GT3 is way ahead of the viper. I've never driven in a viper but I've instructed in them before and they are similar to the corvette ZR1. Loads of torque, sick grip but overall still feel like a truck.

Exactly; make your point and then STFU. I'd prefer you don't comment at all unless you have direct knowledge of the car in question.

People paying 35k for 25 year old sports cars typically have functioning grey matter or are capable of thinking for themselves.

You're absolutely right. That last line literally made me laugh out loud. And btw BAT sells all these cars and sometimes for more than they are worth because of all the input people provide. When you buy on eBay, you really have to do all the research and decision-making yourself. And, BAT is a lot more effort for the seller. Sometimes hundreds of pictures and service records and all that, which you seldom if ever see on eBay.

On this one there's less than half an hour left. My $32.5k guess is looking better than it was yesterday.

Damn! This just hammered at $40,000. What the hell do we know? I have to say that the more I think about it, the more I realize that I was wrongly put off by the lower compression and rust on the rear subframe.
