I was surprised at how low the auction ended as well. I thought originally it would go for $45k after seeing the 9k mile one go for so much. But I guess having a nicer one before it in addition to the Monday ending hurt it. We thought we were gonna get in a long bid war against you so that last 2 minutes waiting for a bid was very suspenseful.

Anyways guys, car's going to get driven probably 2-3k miles a year and sit in a garage the rest of the time. Little bummed it's a touring (hate moonroofs) but hey, it's pretty nice.
Congrats to you and your dad. Pretty nice example indeed

Hey Guys, not a 3rd Gen but check this one out:

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...dId=1369839753

Just spoke with the owner and explained to him about the recent BAT 1979 sale at nearly $20,000 CAD. For whatever reason he doesn't want to list there - someone grab a bargain!

If I buy this my wife will execute me!

So, I was on a tour today, and we had a stop was at LBI, as part of their pre-opening marketing. A lot of exotics and vintage with great provenance, and what do you know, I see this:

Nope, different VIN. Plus, the BAT car had 9525 miles, this one has 9300, so you’re paying a $10k premium for those extra 225 miles 😆

No, you're paying a premium for a 94 non-sunroof car over a 93 touring. Given the $51k the buyer of the 93 touring paid, the $60k asking for this does not seem all that far off. If this car were an R2, I'd say this asking price would have very much been in line with the BAT sale.

YEP

We'll see an FD sell for 60k or more in the next 2 years.

This was a base..... no leather, no sunroof, no spoilers. The interior was so pristine! The seats looked like they had never been used.

They had a booth at the concourse D'Elegance so i saw it all weekend, as they brought this car and some others as well (like an Alfa Gueletta, a Lambo tractor, and a Ferrari 512 Superamerica....

Here is a 7,100 mile 95 base interior. I was adding a Mazda OEM titanium shift ****/e-brake handle, HKS F-Con V-Pro, new R1 DIN pocket, and new 2000 spec Type RS OEM steering wheel. In this day and age, it's unclear whether even those OEM parts help or hurt value.

Yep, there is no perfect formula at the moment to understand the values. Ive been tempted to pickup whats looked like a decent deal a couple times lately but not confident enough to pull the trigger. With that said I am down to 3 vehicles(1 FD) and it feels amazing.

Generally speaking, for an under 10,000 mile car I'd say that any changes probably hurt value. However, if you keep the original parts and they can be easily swapped back in changes like shift *****, ebrake handles, steering wheels, and map pockets aren't going to make any difference plus or minus, imo.

Also, with the upsurge in prices this year, it is eventually going to spill over onto less stock/OEM cars that are well done, I think.

Yep, learning to control your FD/car addiction is a healthy choice for sure

I've cut way back but further restriction is definitely required LOL

Yep the spill over is in effect for sure. Note Adams car that sold for 35k.

PJR - You were at the Concour Cruise?! I was the guy directing traffic into the parking lot! =).

We should have recognized each other!

I'm also the one organizing the LBI/CZero/VangVang/Bangkok96 event on Sunday. Make sure one of you guys stop and say hi to me!

I'll be sure to wear my "Yamamoto is my Homeboy" Tshirt.

Aristo, I really dig the titanium, also I'm a big fan of base seats. Thanks for posting that picture, it looks great.

Matt that's a pretty sweet shirt, I was going to ask if you were showing up. I'll see you out there!

And yet another red over black 1993 on Bring a Trailer! This one is a base model with over 100k miles,a rebuilt engine, basic mods and some paint issues. I'm interested to see if this one can break $20k.

I may pick a number, but there are a few things I'm looking for regardless of guesstimate. First, is a reasonable clean 100k mile car can sell for $20,000 or more, that suggests the whole floor has moved up a lot and its not just the very low mile collector cars. If this one sells for, say, $15,000, then, that may not be true. I suspect that this should be close to $20,000.
