How to value your FD

That's the exact same description of my R1 when I bought it before the pandemic, mine was missing the engine and trans and has 27k so I didn't pay much for it. Assuming yours has the full drivetrain, was it store dry or all fluid still inside? Mine was store dry with the gas tank drained.

Everything is there and original including the tires; truly a case of drove in and parked. Gas stabilizer was used but that stuff is well past its useful life. Expect to drain the tank, flush the lines, and change the filter. Injectors cleaned or replaced? All fluids were current when parked but, again, that was years ago at this point.

Gas tank might be fine since it is indoor, but that's easy to confirm by pulling the hanger. Coolant in the engine might be a concern, I would say drain it and maybe do a pressure test to see if everything still holds up. For such a low mile example, I would sell it as a running car if possible.

According to this poll of very knowledgeable persons, engine condition ranks fourth in valuation considerations. Very low mileage (and assuming original parts) ranks high, even higher than single votes indicate. Perhaps double that value.
Issue for engine condition is that if you need to pull the engine and rebuild, originality takes a big hit.
(If you pull the motor and replace the seals, is that a rebuild, or just maintenance?)

This is the perfect example of model, color and condition really making a difference. AND; compression test being way over rated. People that know this car probably appreciate a hot start more than #s anyway. The drive video of this car is outstanding, sounds great, trans super smooth etc....This R2 might sell for 6 digits, extremely impressive given the miles.

Ending soon, this is going to be interesting. I'm super confident this car will sell for 95,500 (just kidding I have no idea, but I'm willing to at least put my spidey sense to use).
Anyone else want to guess

Its incredible. A group of my friends sent me this link about 2 days ago. At the time it was sitting at 70G's (US no less...). With conversion you're looking at a little over 80g's Cdn.
Damn thing sold for 90g's US!! Wow!
Congrats to the winner. She's a beaut!

I thought this one may break that $100K barrier but it didn't. The white one last week sold for a little less than I expected as well. Another White one just got posted after this sale. Looks to be in great shape for 50K miles. I have less miles on mine and it is not in that good of shape. That being said, I'm very excited to see what this goes for saying that mine is JDM chaste white with very similar mileage. Would be a good comparison as to the cost of USDM vs JDM. Main difference being mine is a type R which is the equivalent of an R2 but they did not make white R2s here.

I'm going with 57.5k (all in) on this one or approx the same as the other one despite it being in better condition with the exception of the engine. Original engine with avg to low compression or about what you'd expect at 50k miles, cold 105 so call it 90 hot. Going forward I'd worry more about the coolant seals than compression. Condition helps tan interior hurts. Bone stock helps but the other car had quality mods so I think that's a wash (those particular mods would add a lot of value for a buyer like me/I think I owned that car for a while and added a lot of the mods).
It will be fun to watch and I expect we will continue to see more FDs listed this spring as the economy does it's crazy BS. Fed will lower rates, gov will give out more stimulus checks etc...etc... and inflation will continue.

I was shocked the BB R2 sold for 94,500, when I first saw the 75k bomb land I was like 80k max and it just kept going.

PEG CW didn't sell: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...x-7-us-can-17/
I'm surprised the seller didn't let it go considering it came very close to the last CW (similar miles and condition) that had black interior, fresher engine and all sorts of nice upgrades.

I wouldn't say any of these cars are "cheap" still. Prices are still up there. I'm only looking to add an MKIV supra, R34 and GT3 to the stable in the future. I may be waiting a bit but I don't think the market is going to go down enough for me to get one in the very near future. As for my crypto, I'm waiting for enough to make it worth selling after paying the taxes. I need to be able to buy a plot of land and build a shop to store all my toys and such, until then, I'll ride it out.
