Hood release is broken

Hood release is broken

Hey guys. So my hood release in the cockpit broke and i cant pull it with pliers or anything... does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get it open?

Usually a 2 person job one to pull cable with locking vise grips and one to lightly push down on hood above where lock is to help relieve pressure on lock

What is the situation...why can’t you use pliers? Never had the issue but if it’s just lack of enough cable can’t you strip the cover back to expose more?

Once you DO get it open you can get the whole hood cable assembly from Mazda, it's not too pricey. Part number

FD01-56-720C
