HIGH idle no throttle response

Hi rotary gurus!

I am in desperate need of guidance…

I have had my 93 FD rebuilt and the old porting corrected (previous owner did a hack job). I have also installed a new turbo similar size as before.

The car starts but idles at 4k rpm and there is no throttle response - it seems like the car is drowning.

When pulling vacuum line from MAP it drops to 2k with rough idle.

Removing TPS connector makes no significant changes.

I have checked and rechecked vacuum lines and grounds and all seems to be good.

My next step is to measure that TPS is within spec once I have sourced the pins needed.

The car should have an adjustment after change of turbo etc but I still believe it should be able to idle since it ran great before.

Any ideas on what can be wrong? I am completely clueless!

Running single turbo, PFC, rats nest and OMP delete.

This may be stupid, but did you verify that the throttle moves freely and isn't gummed up and sticking open?

Throttle cable is loose. But I will try to unhook and check the throttle body.
even if throttle should be slightly open I guess there should be some throttle response?

will also send picture of sensor check tomorrow when I am at the car again

Something is letting air into the engine. Since you just built it, maybe there's a vacuum leak. The lack of throttle response might be unrelated and more of a tuning issue.
Take it too a professional.

Agreed air must come from somewhere. I have checked all vacuum lines and connection points and can’t seem to locate it.
TB is the best guess so far.

Adjustment has to be done, but I need to figure this out first.

Update:
the throttle body didn’t fully close due to some dirt inside.
TPS I had somehow managed to turn 180deg.

My “Newbie” tag seems fitting lol.

thanks for the help!
