FD Operating Parameters (Temps/Press/IAT/Etc)
I have read the desired parameters in serval threads/websites/FSM, but can’t find any compressive site that lists them all for easy reference, so am compiling them. Understand some may be dependent on specific situations, so please add/comment…
Fuel Pressure: 30 psi at idle to 40+ psi at boost (depending on how much boost)*
*FSM states fuel pressure should test between 71-106 psi (490-740 kPa), F-100
Oil Pressure: 20-40 psi at idle to 110 PSI max
Oil Temp: NTE 205F/96C
Water Temp: NTE 185F/85C
IAT: ?
EGT: ?
Compression:
- Normal compression: 110-150 PSI
- Minimum: 75 PSI
- Maximum acceptable pressure difference between chambers: 20 PSI

water temp should be a little higher too. thermostat only starts opening at 82c, fans come on at 105c (i think)
intake air temp is usually in the 38-42c range.
IAT, is about 500c at idle, and will got to about 700c peak. the EGT's are dictated by the cat, which wants to see about 450c to work, and melts over 650c

For this IAT range, are you going by personal experience or is this a Mazda-spec'd range somewhere. This number will probably vary a good bit with climate but I'd be interested to know if there's an official spec for what's too high.

if you plug a power FC in, you can see the temp, and it just pretty much stays there give or take.

Note, this is for stock setup.
