Yup, I have burned through a magnaflow and there is a noticeable difference. If you knock on the body of the resonator/muffler they will sound hollow.

 

I recommend you swap to this bad boy first, plus you'll be supporting a forum vendor

That midpipe made even my PFS catback quiet and livable.

It sounds a bit quieter with those bolt in silencers, but the main thing seems to be a reduction in the persistent deep drone which regardless of decibels should be perceived to be a significant reduction to the noise level.

My question to those far more knowledgeable than I - should one be concerned about the addition of such a restriction to the exhaust with regards to their ecu tune?

 

Just went for a drive. HUGE difference. No need to look around for cops everywhere I go... Worth it.

 

Did you notice any difference in the way the car performed? Nothing weird in the boost?

I bought an Apexi Active tail silencer (waiting on it to arrive) and am hoping for the noise reduction you have achieved, but am nervous about it upsetting the tune......

 

Still breaking in the new engine, so I can't tell any difference at this point... Rev is limited to 4k... Noise is definitely quieter, so old ladies in my hood should be little happier.

 

I was debating toning my exhaust down a hair as well. It was pretty decent with working sequential twins(pretty quiet with the TCA closed)
7670 EFR, 3" downpipe, rx7store resonated midpipe, and RB cat back. but seems quite a bit louder with the new turbo setup.

any ideas? maybe the resonated midpipe burned out? cant remember what brand muffler is used?
