Color matched rear center light?

Anyone ever consider paint matching their rear center light with the car color leaving a line for the light? I'm curious how this looks and have been considering this for sometime. If anyone is good with photoshop perhaps they can chime in with some pictures? Here are some random pictures I found online that you could photoshop.

I am interested to see how it looks. I don't think that would look good though. Interupts the line of the tail lights and rear bumper.

I did it on an FD but only thought it would look good with the tails painted to match. So, I ended up painting 3 circle across the tails and a small slit for the third brake light. Cleared, wet sanded...I miss that car!

The carbon light covers are just that aren’t they?

The carbon light covers add extra material and cover the center light. I'm hoping for a cleaner appearance. You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of that past setup would you?

To my eyes the OEM look tends to widen and lower the look of the car.

I've seen it done before, but with painting the perimeter of the tail lights as well. Can look pretty cool but the body shop needs to be on point to properly prep and paint the plastic.

I don't think I'd like that look, personally...

As an aside, I'm drooling over the pictures of the cars you posted...

The tailight shape is one of the best and most distinctive features of the car. Why would you ruin it?

It is a unique feature that makes the FD stand out from most vehicles. That said I still believe, if done correctly, it would not ruin the look.

Anyone know anyone whose good with photoshop that can help out with this thread?

I've seen it before and I wasn't a fan. But ultimately it is your car, your style.

It doesn't look that good. I don't care for it.
