Color matched my S4 trim
Preparing to paint the Vert late next month, So I started prepping the mouldings for the painting process. I lightly sanded them with a 1000 grit sandpaper, wiped them down with NAPTHA then sprayed a flexing agent onto the trim, followed by 3 light coats of the base coat of white. Painting the trim can really clean up the exterior of the car.... Should be pretty sweet when I get this thing done.. I am picking up my other vert this week, so this white one can sit for a while so I can get her 100% up to par. My nice S5 carpet came in (black) as well as the S5 center console. The car is really starting to come together. It'll be turbo'd, painted, and ready to rumble!! Then I am going to sell it and move on to the next project...
Anyways enjoy the progress!

BTW YES the car is really dirty, I live out in the country and we have spring water which has been pretty low lately, I'll clean her up before the next RX-meet.....

Here is my old SE that I did the same thing to. I also painted the bodykit on this one with "FUsion" spraypaint..lol Turned out ok and held up very well. The red "fusion" paint matched the 14 year old faded red just great...
My methods now are a little less "backwoods" I have 2 more years of "actual" painting experience under my belt..lol.
One picture was during the process the other is about 6 months later.

Instructions:
1) clean your trim with NAPTHA or rubbing alcohol
2) lightly sand with a light grit paper (just to scuff it up)
3) wipe clean again with items from #1
4) Spray with an adhesion promotor (buy at walmart or autozone)
5) Buy either "duplicolor" automotive paints or the "fusion" paint in your color
6) Do thin coats after masking around the trim about 6" away from the body sweeping from one side to another.. THIN COATS I SAID!!!
7) Paint until desired coverage is achieved
8) Spray with a high quality clear coat in a can (duplicolor automotive) X2-X3 coats
9) ENJOY the new "clean" look your car have....
