Cluster Lens Rings Refurbishing?

Hello, quick question, I have a cluster with chrome rings that are chipping, I’d rather not spend 180$ on a new lens and I’m ok with the matte aluminum look rather than chrome, has anyone ever tried to paint them? If so, what process did you do to ensure they look good and the paint sticks? Thanks!

I just swabbed the chrome off with nail polish remover on a qtip. There isn't chrome anywhere else in the interior - i think it looks weird to begin with on the gauges.

I didn’t even think about using nail polish remover, that’s much easier, thank you! Did you end up painting them?

I think it would be REALLY hard to get them painted so they are smooth and you don't have paint all over the lenses themselves.

Really I don't think the lenses are that much - you may want to ask Ray Crowe, he can get you the best price.

Yeah, it's just acetone. No paint. They're black now like the rest of the interior.
