The best way to fix the door handles

Happy 2023 everyone!

Had an issue with the door handles and decided to make a video in case someone else can benefit from it. The car had the aluminum handles so my issue was it had to much play.
I did some research in the forums and found a fix. However, doing that will make the handle feel wobbly and won't remove the play.
So, I decided to add a washer between the a
handle and the mechanism and voilá... the handle feel like new.
Enjoy!

I will say you can fix them but hands down all new OEM handles are far and away the best solution to the problem. Lots of little tolerances wear out over time and make them sloppy. I think also the original handles on the car weren't great, they updated and fixed some things over time.

I put new handles on my car shortly after getting it in 2004 and they still feel perfect.

Hey Dale,

I agree. You can never go wrong with OEM. This is just an option and I think it worked perfectly because the handle is aluminum. I assume this method won't work with a plastic handle since the washer will put pressure and will eat the plastic.

I'm a fan of you btw 😂. I don't know how many of your threads I've read in all these years!! 💪🏽
